Every party needs someone to open the dance floor, and the spectacular opening ceremony in the Schauinsland-Reisen Arena on July 16, 2025 will really kick off the FISU Games! A dazzling cultural performance will set the tone for the moment all student athletes have been waiting for – entering a packed stadium together with dear friends and teammates – when everyone can turn to each other and say, “I'm in.” Inspiring speeches, the hoisting of the FISU flag and the traditional anthem “Gaudeamus Igitur” will officially open the games before we turn up the volume and raise the curtain on the show's surprise musical guests. A magical evening that ends with the iconic lighting of the cauldron by a well-known name in the sport. Be sure to book your seats for this unique event!

It is planned to sell tickets in blocks for the opening ceremony in the Schauinsland-Reisen Arena. This means that each buyer acquires a block, but not a specific seat. Within the purchased block, you are therefore allowed to choose any free seat, as long as it has not yet been taken by someone else. There are no numbered seats, so it is a case of first come, first served.

Public transport: Your admission ticket is also a ticket for a return journey to and from the event location in Duisburg in accordance with the VRR tariff in price category D and is valid on the corresponding day of the event as printed on it. You can find more information

The Opening Ceremony will be held in English, and live subtitles will be available in both German and English. The Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena is fully accessible, with designated accessible infrastructure such as parking spaces and restrooms. In addition to wheelchair seating, a range of inclusive services is offered: audio description, audio induction loop systems and German sign language interpretation. These General Terms and Conditions for Admission Tickets apply to the legal relationship established by the order and/or purchase of admission tickets (“admission tickets”) for events of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games Organizing Committee gGmbH (“Organizer”) from the Organizer or vivenu GmbH (“Authorized Provider”), in particular for admission to events such as the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, insofar as these are at least co-organized by the Organizer (“Events”), as well as for access to and stay at the official venues of the Events (“Venues”), unless separate general terms and conditions (“GTC”) apply to the respective Event or Venue.

2.1 Sales channels: Tickets for events of the organizer may only be purchased from the organizer or the authorized provider. Third-party platforms such as viagogo, Global Ticket, StubHub, etc. are expressly not authorized providers or affiliated sales agents of the authorized provider and are not entitled to offer valid tickets. In addition to these Ticket T&Cs, the T&Cs of the authorized provider in relation to advance sales via https://ticket.rhineruhr2025.com/ may apply.

2.2 Ordering: When ordering tickets online via https://ticket.rhineruhr2025.com/, buyers submit a binding offer to conclude a contract with the organizer by using the online command provided for this purpose. The receipt of the offer is confirmed to the buyer. However, this confirmation is merely a confirmation of receipt of the online order and not yet an acceptance of the buyer's offer and is subject to the availability of the tickets ordered and the consideration of any special circumstances (e.g. hygiene, safety aspects). On the basis of these General Terms and Conditions for Admission Tickets, a contract between the organizer and the purchaser shall only come into effect with the express confirmation of the order, the (possibly electronic) dispatch or the deposit of the admission tickets, depending on which event occurs first. If an order is placed on site or by telephone, the contract is concluded when the tickets are handed over or dispatched.

2.3 Prices and payments: The ticket price is based on the organizer's ticket price list valid at the time of ordering, which can be viewed at https://ticket.rhineruhr2025.com/. Ticket orders will only be processed using the approved payment methods (e.g. PayPal, credit card). In addition to the ticket price, the organizer may charge the purchaser shipping costs and/or reasonable service fees for services provided in their interest (e.g. system fees) in the case of ticket shipping.

In the event of unsuccessful payment for which the purchaser is responsible (e.g. lack of credit card or account coverage, chargeback), the organizer is entitled to cancel the order without compensation and/or to block the corresponding tickets. These then lose their validity. Any additional costs incurred must be reimbursed by the purchaser. The organizer reserves the right to demand further compensation.

2.4 Dispatch and deposit of admission tickets: The dispatch of admission tickets and their deposit for collection are only offered in exceptional cases and by prior arrangement. There is no entitlement to this service. Should shipping be agreed in exceptional cases, this will be at the expense of the purchaser and an individually determined handling fee will be charged. There are no shipping costs for the download or electronic dispatch of admission tickets as print@home/mobile admission tickets, as these do not count as dispatch. In the case of orders placed at short notice, a deposit of the tickets for collection can be agreed between the purchaser and the organizer in special cases. A reasonable deposit fee may be charged for this. Tickets can only be collected by the purchaser or a person authorized in writing by the purchaser upon presentation of an official ID or other official document suitable for identification.

2.5 Ticket complaints: In the case of tickets with obvious defects, purchasers are obliged to complain about these immediately, generally within five (5) working days of receipt of the ticket and before the start of the event. In the case of tickets purchased or ordered in advance from the authorized provider, the complaint must be addressed to the authorized provider. The defect must be specified and the ticket must be returned. Otherwise the entitlement to withdrawal or replacement tickets for the respective event shall lapse after the start of the event. The complaints provisions expressly do not apply to tickets that have been lost in transit or to tickets that have not been ordered, or in the event of a complaint that is demonstrably due to the fault of the organizer. 

3.1 No right of revocation or withdrawal: When purchasing an admission ticket, the purchaser is not entitled to a two-week right of revocation or withdrawal, regardless of whether the organizer or the authorized provider offers admission tickets by means of distance communication in accordance with § 312c para. 2 BGB and thus a distance contract in accordance with § 312c para. 1 BGB may exist. Orders are therefore binding and final and cannot be changed or withdrawn. 

3.2 Ticket returns: Refunds are generally not possible for this event. Under certain circumstances, refunds may be made as a gesture of goodwill. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing via ticketing@rhineruhr2025.com. The decision will be made by the ticket management. No refunds will be made on site unless there are exceptional circumstances.

3.2.1 Ticket exchanges: Exchanges between events are only possible for tickets for competition days of the same category. It is not possible to exchange tickets for the opening and closing events. Tickets for competition days can only be exchanged under the following conditions: 

Exchange requests must be submitted by May 31, 2025; 23:59. Tickets purchased after this date cannot be refunded. 

The person must first purchase a new ticket for their new preferred date via their ticket account. The ticket account must match the account originally used. 

Exchange requests must be made in writing to ticketing@rhineruhr2025.com. 

Tickets already sent by post (physical thermal tickets) must be returned to the organizer before the exchange can take place. 

An exchange is only possible if the same number of tickets in the same category are ordered; no compensation for a higher price will be granted. 

The organizer will then confirm the purchase of the new tickets and refund the original tickets.

3.3 Damaged print@home/Mobile admission tickets: In the event of a technical defect in print@home/Mobile admission tickets, the organizer will block the admission tickets in question as soon as it becomes aware of the defect and issue new admission tickets if the purchaser can provide proof of legitimacy. However, this does not apply to technical defects that are clearly attributable to the purchaser (e.g. defective cell phone, illegible printout, etc.). 

3.4 Loss of tickets: For security reasons, lost or damaged tickets will not be replaced. In individual cases, lost or damaged tickets may be replaced as a gesture of goodwill. This is at the sole discretion of the organizer or, in the case of advance sales, the authorized provider

4.1 Impermissible transfer: Tickets are sold exclusively for private use. The purchase of tickets for the purpose of economic gain or commercial resale is prohibited and is at the sole discretion of the organizer and/or the authorized provider. In particular, a person in possession of tickets is not permitted to 

- use their tickets for other commercial purposes, in particular for marketing, advertising, as a prize in a competition or prize draw or as part of a travel package, 

- offer their tickets for sale and/or sell them publicly, in particular by way of auctions, including online (e.g. on eBay, eBay classifieds, Facebook) and/or via sales platforms not authorized by the organizer (e.g. viagogo, seatwave, StubHub, etc.), 

- transfer tickets regularly and/or in large numbers, 

- to sell or transfer tickets to commercial and professional resellers and/or ticket dealers or ticket platforms, 

- transfer their admission tickets above the sales price plus pro rata transaction costs (shipping costs, advance booking fees, system fees); a price mark-up of up to 10% to compensate for the transaction costs incurred is permitted. 

4.2 Permitted transfer: The private transfer of an admission ticket for non-commercial reasons, in particular in individual cases of illness or other prevention of the person, is permitted, provided that it is not a case of inadmissible transfer within the meaning of Section 4.1, and the person (1) expressly informs the new holders* of the scope and content of these Ticket T&Cs, (2) the new holders* agree to the application of these Ticket T&Cs between them and the organizer and (3) the transfer is only permitted under the following conditions: 

- The ticket holder can be adjusted via the customer account or via the link provided in the email with the tickets 

4.3 Transfer of discounted tickets: With regard to the permitted transfer of discounted tickets, the provisions of section 4.2 apply with the additional proviso that a transfer is only possible if the new holders also meet the requirements for the discount. 

4.4 Sanctions in the event of an unauthorized transfer: In the event of an unauthorized sale or use of tickets in accordance with clause 4.1, the promoter is entitled, 

a) not to deliver or dispatch any admission tickets that have been used in breach of the provisions of clause 4.1, 

b) to block admission tickets and other admission tickets purchased by the respective ticket holder and to deny them admission to the event without compensation and to expel them from the venue if they have already been granted admission, 

c) In the event of such a breach of these General Terms and Conditions for Admission Tickets, the organizer shall be entitled to demand payment of an appropriate contractual penalty of up to € 3,000. The exact amount of the contractual penalty shall be determined by the organizer at its own discretion and, in the event of a dispute, shall be subject to judicial review as to its appropriateness. The nature and extent of the fault (intent or negligence), performance of the ticket holders with regard to compensation, etc. shall be taken into account. Further claims, including claims for damages, remain unaffected. 

Any case of a refund mentioned in the following clauses is excluded from the shipping costs, the system fee of €0.50 per ticket and the service costs.

Buyers acknowledge that a number of competitions are open-air events and therefore the start and execution of the respective event are weather-dependent and can be influenced by the weather. Furthermore, in the case of sporting events, decisions on the approval of the start, interruption, postponement or cancellation are made without exception by the organizer, taking into account, among other things, the safety of the athletes and spectators. In this respect, the organizer is entitled to cancel, postpone or, if necessary, interrupt the respective event if unforeseen circumstances or circumstances for which the organizer is not responsible make it impossible to hold the event. Persons wishing to attend the events are therefore obliged to inform themselves about the weather conditions and the respective start of the event, possible postponements, cancellations and applicable safety and hygiene regulations in the usual media and on www.rhineruhr2025.com before arrival. In all other respects, the following provisions apply. 

In the event of a postponement or relocation of a competition to another day, the admission tickets (day tickets) are not valid for the alternative date. Ticket holders are only entitled to a refund of the ticket price if the ticket in question was not used or was only scanned at the venue of the postponed sporting event. Refund requests must be submitted to the organizer in text form (by email or via the support portal). 

In the event of a postponement or relocation of the opening and/or closing ceremony, the tickets remain valid. In this case, it is possible to withdraw from the contract. The withdrawal must be declared to the organizer in text form (by e-mail is sufficient). Purchasers will be refunded the ticket price paid upon presentation of the corresponding tickets. 

In the event that an event is canceled, ticket holders are not entitled to a refund of the ticket price if the organizer is responsible for the cancellation. 

In the event of a complete competition day being canceled (full-day cancellation of all sports at all venues) or the opening/closing ceremony, the ticket price paid will be refunded on presentation of the corresponding ticket. 

In the event of cancellation of an individual competition, the ticket price can only be refunded if the ticket in question has not been used or has only been scanned for the venue of the canceled sport. Refund requests must be submitted to the organizer in text form (by email or via the support portal). 

If an event is held under complete (or partial, if a ticket is affected by partial exclusion) exclusion of the public in accordance with the provisions of a competent association or authority, both the organizer and the purchasers are entitled to withdraw from the contract for the purchase of tickets for the respective event. The withdrawal of the affected purchasers must be declared in text form (by e-mail is sufficient), by fax or in writing by post. The affected purchasers will receive a refund of the price paid less shipping, system or service costs upon presentation or sending of the original tickets at their own expense.

6.1 Right of access: Tickets for the organizer's sporting events (opening and closing ceremonies excluded) generally entitle the holder to access to all competition venues on the respective day of validity. In the event that the maximum permitted visitor capacity at a competition venue is reached in total or in individual sub-areas, no admission can be granted to these areas. In this respect, there is no guarantee that it will be possible to attend an explicitly requested individual event.  

This applies to the following ticket types: Ground Pass / Season Ticket , Day Ticket + Hostcity . All other ticket types are tickets dedicated to one sport and guarantee a seat for the duration of the selected sport. Access to the venue is only permitted with a valid ticket. The organizer is entitled to personalize admission tickets. In this case, only the person specified on the admission tickets or identifiable by other identification criteria (QR code, etc.) or the person who has purchased the admission tickets as part of a permitted transfer in accordance with Section 4.2 shall be granted access to the event, subject to the inclusion and application of these Admission Ticket T&Cs, provided that a valid personal document can be presented. If no identity document is presented or if it is not valid, admission may be refused. In the case of print@home/mobile admission tickets, access to the event venue may also be refused if technical faults that are clearly attributable to the person (e.g. defect in the cell phone, illegible printout, etc.) mean that electronic access control is not possible. The rejected person is not entitled to any compensation. Upon request, the admission ticket together with the identity document must also be presented at any time at the event venue to the operator of the respective event venue, the organizer or a person appointed by them. The admission ticket only entitles the holder to access the correspondingly authorized areas. 

6.2 Special admission requirements/pandemic control: If certain requirements have to be met for good cause, e.g. due to mandatory safety regulations to combat pandemics or to partially exclude the public in accordance with official requirements, and/or proof is required for the purchase of admission tickets and/or access to the event venue (e.g. proof of vaccination, testing or recovery), the Organizer is entitled and obliged, subject to the applicable data protection regulations, to obtain such proof or certificates by way of an admission requirement (immediately prior to access to or presence on the event premises) and to check compliance with such regulations. If visitors are unable to meet the relevant conditions and requirements, the organizer is entitled to refuse the purchase of tickets and/or access to the event venue. In the case of tickets that have already been purchased, visitors and the organizer are entitled to withdraw from the ticket purchase contract for the respective event. There is only a right to a refund of the price paid (less the fees incurred) if the regulations have changed but the information on www.rheineruhr2025.com has not been updated in such a way that it was possible to find out about it in good time. Otherwise, there is no right to a refund.

If the measures require the collection or processing of particularly sensitive personal data (health data), corresponding data protection notices will be provided at www.rheineruhr2025.com.

Visitors also agree that the organizer is entitled to set specific admission times for specific tickets for good cause, e.g. due to mandatory security regulations to combat pandemics or to avoid large crowds.

In this case, the persons concerned are obliged to comply with the corresponding schedule. In the event of intentional or negligent non-compliance, access to the event venue outside of the specified time frame may be refused without compensation.

In addition, it must be acknowledged that additional rules, regulations and requirements regarding the purchase of tickets and access to and presence at the event venue may apply for good cause, e.g. due to mandatory safety regulations to combat pandemics, in particular due to official and/or instructions or orders of the responsible association (e.g. safety and hygiene concepts).

In the event of an infection with Covid-19 or a quarantine due to contact with a Covid-19 infected person, the purchased tickets will not be refunded.

These rules, regulations and requirements will be made available to the buyer in good time and must be observed by the buyer from the time of their announcement. For example, it may be necessary for a person to be asked to provide further personal data about themselves and/or any persons accompanying them (see section 4.2 on permissible transmission) to the organizer in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations for the purpose of tracing chains of infection as part of prescribed safety measures to combat the pandemic.

Likewise, persons may be required to change their seat at the event venue, e.g. to comply with distance regulations as part of prescribed pandemic control safety measures, or may be subject to certain information or reporting requirements. The relevant instructions and regulations must be observed. If a person does not agree with these instructions and regulations, they are entitled to withdraw from the contract for the respective event if admission tickets have already been purchased. They will then receive a refund of the price paid, less the fees incurred, upon presentation or delivery of the original admission tickets at their own expense.

6.3 Concessionary tickets: Holders of concessionary tickets must carry and present appropriate proof of eligibility for the relevant concession. If such a document is not presented or is invalid, admission may be refused; the person refused entry is not entitled to any compensation.

6.4 Re-entry: The Organizer fulfills its obligations with regard to admission by granting persons with an admission ticket one-time access to the event(s). In principle, admission tickets lose their validity when leaving the event location. However, “re-entry” is permitted if the admission tickets are scanned by the Organizer's service personnel when leaving the event location. In the event of re-entry, the respective ticket terms and conditions continue to apply and, if necessary, security, personal and bag checks will be carried out again.

6.5 Access for children and young people: Children up to 4 years of age do not require a ticket for any event if they do not require a seat (at events with assigned seating).

Every child/young person aged 5-17 requires their own ticket to enter the event venue. The statutory provisions for the protection of minors apply to the admission of children and young people. Children under the age of 14 are only allowed entry if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children over the age of 14 who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must present appropriate official identification to prove their identity. Other regulations may apply depending on the requirements of the local administration. These take precedence over the above regulations.

6.6 Proof of eligibility for a discount: Holders of discounted tickets must present proof of eligibility for a discount upon request. The following documents are accepted:

– Children up to 14 years of age: proof of date of birth after July 2010.

– Senior citizens over 65 years of age: photo ID with date of birth before June 1958

– Trainees: proof of an ongoing training program

– Job seekers: current proof of unemployment (unemployment certificate)

– People with disabilities: valid disability ID

7.1 House rules: By entering the event venue, the buyers agree to comply with the house and service rules as well as the code of conduct set up by the organizer, both of which can be found at www.rheineruhr2025.com. These apply upon entry to the event venue, regardless of the validity of these ticket terms and conditions.

At the event venue, the instructions of the operator and the organizer and the security personnel for the implementation of the house rules must be followed.

7.2 Disruptive behavior: Any violation of the aforementioned house and/or service rules and/or the following rules of conduct may result in the confiscation or blocking of the ticket without compensation, the forfeiture of the right of access or expulsion from the event venue.

Persons who are visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, who are wearing masks, or who behave violently or in a manner that violates public order, or who give reason to fear such behavior, will be denied access to the event venue.

In particular, it is prohibited to carry the following items, among others:

• Weapons of any kind, as well as items that can be used as weapons or projectiles. This also includes self-defense devices such as pepper sprays.

Glass containers, bottles and cans or other items made of glass or other fragile, splintering or particularly hard materials that could cause injury due to their nature

Pyrotechnic material such as fireworks, Bengal lights, smoke bombs, smoke powder, flares, sparklers, etc.

• Bags and backpacks larger than 50 x 30 x 20 cm. The security service is entitled to carry out bag and backpack checks at its own discretion.

• Writings, posters, emblems and other objects (including items of clothing) that serve to express an inadmissible opinion (e.g. racist, xenophobic, right- or left-wing extremist, anti-Semitic, National Socialist or political propaganda material)

• Drugs within the meaning of the Narcotics Act (BtMG); their consumption is also prohibited

• Animals of any kind, except for seeing-eye dogs and assistance dogs in consultation with the operator/organizer

• Plastic containers, plastic bottles or tetrapacks with beverages for personal use that exceed a maximum quantity of 500 ml per person

• Private sports equipment such as bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades

2. General information on data processing

Personal data is any information about you that is personally identifiable. This information relates to you and makes you identifiable. This includes, for example, information such as first and last names, email addresses, but also usage data such as the IP address or your usage behavior.

When processing data, we strictly adhere to the principle of purpose-related data use in accordance with Art. 5 (1) (b) GDPR. The “principle of purpose limitation” means that all personal data is processed only for the purposes stated in this data use notice.

We therefore process your personal data only to the extent permitted by law. Disclosure or transfer of personal data will only take place in the cases described in Section 3. The personal data will be deleted or protected by technical measures (e.g. anonymization) as soon as the purpose of the processing no longer applies. Disclosure or transfer only takes place to the extent necessary for the operation of our websites, e.g. with storage by our host provider. A transfer to a third country or to an international organization is not intended.

b. Creating a user account on our ticket site / online ticket platform

You can create a user account on our ticket site / online ticket platform for easier use at [https://ticket.rhineruhr2025.com]. To do so, you enter the following data in an input mask and send it to us:

This data is collected, processed and used by us for the following purposes in an automated procedure:

• Provision of the customer account for our ticket site,

• Questions in connection with your customer account and/or orders placed,

• Information about changes to the ticket terms and conditions or data protection notices,

• Ensuring public safety (if necessary, enforcing a ban on entering the event venues).

Once you have created your user account, we will send you a link and ask you to confirm the email address provided using the so-called double opt-in procedure. This is how we ensure that you also have access to the email account provided and that your email address is correct. We process the password you have chosen exclusively in an encrypted form. By clicking the “Verify account” button, you confirm your registration and the creation of your account.

The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR, since the provision of the data is essential for the creation of your user account. Without this data, we cannot create a user account. The data will be used by us to provide your user account. It will be stored in your personal central user account. There you can view it at any time and change the password.

Furthermore, we collect the following additional personal data from you during the ticket purchase process for events organized by RR2025 gGmbH via our ticket page, provided that you have already created a user account:

If you have not previously created a user account and wish to purchase tickets as a guest, we collect the following personal data from you as part of the ordering process:

residential address (street, postcode, city),

This is done for the purpose of fulfilling the contract with you and for carrying out necessary pre-contractual measures, in particular for:

• Purchase of tickets (conclusion of contract),

The legal basis for this is therefore Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR. In addition, we process personal data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR, insofar as this is necessary for the fulfillment of legal obligations to which RR2025 gGmbH is subject as a legal entity. The purposes of processing include, in particular, tax-related retention obligations in accordance with § 147 of the German Fiscal Code or responding to official requests from regulatory and/or law enforcement authorities.

Beyond the actual fulfillment of the contract, we process personal data in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR. This is permissible insofar as the processing is necessary to safeguard the legitimate interests of RR2025 gGmbH or a third party, provided that the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not prevail, which require the protection of personal data. RR2025 gGmbH has such an overriding legitimate interest in the following cases: the execution of payment processing via external service providers, fraud prevention and prevention of ticket trading on the secondary market, the examination and optimization of procedures for needs analysis and direct customer contact, the assertion of legal claims, the defense in legal disputes and the guarantee of IT security in the case of contact requests via the contact form and/or other contact options to us.

If you write us an e-mail at our contact address given on the ticket platform or contact us via any other means of communication, the personal data you provide will be processed by our service provider and contract processor vivenu GmbH (“vivenu”), Kesselstraße 3, 40221 Düsseldorf. In this case, the personal data transmitted with the e-mail or message and provided by you (name, e-mail address, your IP address and the date and time of the contact request) will be stored.

This information is transmitted by your e-mail client or other means of communication and processed in the IT systems of vivenu. The processing of this personal data is necessary for vivenu to respond to your request.

The legal basis for this data processing is our legitimate interest in answering your request in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR. If, after you have contacted us, you enter into a contract with us for the purchase of tickets, the further processing of your personal data will be based on Art. 6 (1) point b GDPR.

The personal data will be processed by vivenu for as long as necessary to answer your request. If your request should lead to a later conclusion of a contract, processing will take place as long as necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures or to fulfill the contract. If no contract is concluded, the personal data will be routinely deleted at least every six (6) months. Your personal data will not be merged with other data sources. Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties.

The provision of your personal data in connection with sending an e-mail or contacting us and vivenu via any other communication channel is voluntary, so please only provide the personal data that you consider necessary for answering your request.

If you subscribe to our newsletter via the method provided on our ticket website, you agree to the receipt and the described procedures.

To register for the newsletter, we ask you to provide your name and e-mail address. Registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure: after registration, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration.
